The MIT Energy Initiative launched the Data Center Power Forum in September to convene industry members and MIT researchers to tackle rapidly rising data center electricity demand driven by AI. The forum builds on MITEI symposia (including May 2025 and fall 2024 events), will be supported by the Future Energy Systems Center, and names Deep Deka as program manager.

Partners in the Taxonomy Roadmap Initiative launched the Principles for Taxonomy Interoperability at a Pre-COP30 event in São Paolo to guide development and cross-border comparability of sustainable finance taxonomies. The Principles aim to help mobilize “the trillions of dollars in climate finance needed globally” by making taxonomies interoperable across emerging and developed markets.

The UK Government’s MOBILIST programme invested $10 million (PHP 586 million) as a cornerstone investor in Maynilad Water Services’ IPO on the Philippine Stock Exchange to fund water infrastructure upgrades serving over 9 million Metro Manila residents. MOBILIST joins investors including IFC and ADB, marks its second Philippines investment after Citicore Renewable Energy’s 2024 IPO, and supports the EMDE Public Markets Coalition launched at UN FFD4 in July.
