Principles launched to enable taxonomy interoperability for sustainable finance

The Taxonomy Roadmap Initiative partners launched the Principles for Taxonomy Interoperability at a Pre-COP30 event in São Paolo to guide the design and implementation of sustainable finance taxonomies.

  • Main announcement: The Principles for Taxonomy Interoperability were launched by the Taxonomy Roadmap Initiative at a Pre-COP30 event in São Paolo to help countries and regulators design and implement sustainable finance taxonomies that are usable, credible and comparable across borders; the Principles provide guidance for creating, governing and implementing taxonomies to support financial and non-financial companies’ decision-making.
  • Background and partners: The voluntary Roadmap for Advancing Interoperability and Comparability of Sustainable Finance Taxonomies unites partners including CBAR (Azerbaijan), IFC, SBFN, IPSF, UNDP, GIZ (technical support), UNEP FI, Climate Bonds Initiative, EU Sustainable Finance Advisory Hub, PRI and the Ministry of Finance of Brazil; documents are available in English, Português, Français, Español and 普通话 (download links provided).
