President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva attended the first CNPM meeting on 16 October in Brasília where the Council approved priorities for a sustainable Brazilian Mineral Policy and set guidelines for the National Mining Plan (PNM-2050). The CNPM also approved its Internal Rules and created four Working Groups to address critical minerals, fees and incentives, sustainable development, and a diagnostic study of mining oversight involving ANM.
