The Ministry of the Interior announced a three-pronged housing policy package—old-house lifespan extension and expanded autonomous urban renewal, virtual floor area reform, and a near-zero carbon building flagship plan—presented at a Taichung forum on 2025-09-18. The Ministry said the Land Administration Agency proposed the old-house extension plan and that the actions will be coordinated with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Welfare to support 2050 net-zero goals and residential resilience.

HKEX signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) to explore joint initiatives including ETFs, ESG-related products, cross-listings and market promotion to deepen connectivity between Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi. The MOU, signed on the sidelines of the Global Investopia conference, builds on ADX’s prior recognition as a HKEX-recognised exchange and notes increased Middle Eastern investor participation in Hong Kong IPOs.
