Over 2 billion in cities will be exposed to 0.5ºC rise by 2040

UN-Habitat releases World Cities Report 2024 warning that over 2 billion urban residents will face temperature increases of at least 0.5°C by 2040. The report highlights a significant funding gap of $4.5-5.4 trillion needed annually for climate-resilient urban infrastructure, with current financing at only $831 billion.
