East West Rail to boost Oxford-Cambridge region by billions

The UK government has announced full support for the East West Rail project, which will connect Oxford to Cambridge with a new sustainable railway line that includes hybrid battery-electric trains. The £6.7 billion per year economic boost project includes electrification plans for net-zero carbon railway and will support up to 28,000 jobs in Cambridge while enabling new housing developments along the route.
