Material Flow Accounts for Natural Resources in Norway
Norway’s ‘Materialstrømsregnskap’ reported that the extraction of natural resources in 2022 reached 331,522 thousand tonnes. This statistic includes various resources such as biomass, minerals, and fossil fuels. The report highlighted that fossil fuels accounted for a significant proportion, with a total of 214,905 thousand tonnes extracted. Annual reporting is conducted to Eurostat regarding these figures as part of EU regulations.
