UK government unveils funding for AI and climate research

The UK government has unveiled £82.6 million in new flexible research funding to empower AI projects aimed at health and climate solutions. The investment includes £37.9 million backing for three research projects. One of these projects, MEMetic, will work on innovative water management solutions combining nature with advanced polymer chemistry. This initiative aims to address the climate crisis through lithium recovery in battery recycling and enhancing clean water access.
