AECOM to advance industrial decarbonization for hydrogen hub

US-based AECOM has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to provide environmental compliance support and prepare the programmatic NEPA Environmental Impact Statement for the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub. This project is part of the DOE’s Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs Program, which aims to decarbonize key sectors of the economy through a $7 billion investment in regional clean hydrogen hubs nationwide. The initiative aims to cut around 1.7 million metric tons of CO2 emissions each year, equivalent to removing 400,000 gasoline-powered cars from the road. AECOM’s expertise will help develop a hydrogen ecosystem that promotes greater energy security and job growth in the Pacific Northwest.
