Toyota Develops New Fuel Cell System

Japan-based Toyota Motor Corporation has developed a new third-generation fuel cell (3rd Gen FC) system, aimed at advancing the realization of a hydrogen society. The new FC system boasts improved durability and fuel efficiency compared to conventional diesel engines, along with significant cost reductions. Toyota aims to expand the use of this technology in heavy-duty commercial vehicles, with an introduction planned for markets primarily in Japan, Europe, North America, and China starting after 2026.
