South Africa to host G20 on research and bioeconomy

South Africa is set to host the G20 Research and Innovation Working Group (RIWG) and the G20 Initiative on Bioeconomy (GIB) meeting from 23 to 25 February 2025 at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein. This initiative aligns with the country’s focus on sustainable development amidst ongoing global challenges, including climate change. Under the leadership of Minister Blade Nzimande, the DSTI aims to promote principles that address social equity and sustainable prosperity as part of bioeconomy policymaking.
