Tata Motors Drives India’s Green Future with Country’s First Hydrogen Truck Trials – Tata Motors

India has launched its first-ever trials of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, led by Tata Motors. The trial, funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, involves 16 hydrogen-powered vehicles with varying configurations and payload capacities. These trucks will be tested on key freight routes across India, including Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR. The initiative aims to assess the commercial viability of hydrogen-powered vehicles for long-distance haulage and to establish the necessary infrastructure for their operation. This marks a significant step towards India’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
