Final Determination of Energy Efficiency Standards by HUD

The US-based Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) extended compliance dates for energy efficiency standards for new construction of HUD- and USDA-financed housing by six months. This includes the FHA-Insured Multifamily, FHA-Insured Single Family, and Public Housing Capital Fund programs. The compliance for Section 8 Project Based Vouchers is delayed until April 2026. This extension will give HUD and the USDA time to review questions regarding the Final Determination and develop technical assistance as needed.
