European Parliament calls for strong ESF+ to address social challenges

The European Parliament called for more resources for the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) post-2027 to better support vulnerable persons and combat poverty. The ESF+ is set to have a budget of €142.7 billion for 2021-2027, aimed at enhancing social investment, entrepreneurship, and addressing social challenges including climate change implications. Lawmakers underscored the need for the ESF+ to remain an independent tool to address educational and skill development amidst rising socio-economic challenges.
