Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc.
Japan-based Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. has installed the world’s first hydrogen cartridge-powered vending machine at the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This vending machine, developed in collaboration with Fuji Electric Co., Ltd., operates using a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, allowing it to function independently without emitting CO₂. The machine is compatible with Coca-Cola’s official app, Coke ON, and is designed to be accessible for everyone, including the elderly and people with disabilities. The vending machine will be operational from April 13, 2025, beneath the Expo’s Grand Roof (Ring).
