US Congress Advances Multiple Environmental and Infrastructure Bills
The US Congress has advanced several bills focused on environmental protection, infrastructure, and supply chain resilience.
- The House passed the Wastewater Infrastructure Pollution Prevention and Environmental Safety (WIPPES) Act (H.R.2269) to improve labeling of non-flushable products, aiming to prevent sewage system damage and reduce pollution in waterways; its Senate companion (S.1092) passed committee review.
- The Senate passed the Promoting Resilient Supply Chains Act of 2025 (S.257) to enhance domestic supply chain mapping and monitoring, including critical minerals for clean energy; the House passed a companion bill (H.R.2444).
- The House Appropriations Committee approved the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2026 (H.R.4121), setting funding levels for conservation, rural development, and agriculture programs.
