Air Liquide invests €500M in large-scale electrolyzer Netherlands

Air Liquide has announced a final investment decision to build the ELYgator large-scale electrolyzer in the Netherlands.

  • The project is supported by the Dutch government via the OWE subsidy scheme, the European Innovation Fund, and the Dutch IPCEI program, with a refined regulatory framework aiding advancement.
  • Air Liquide will invest over 500 million euros to build, own, and operate the electrolyzer, which will produce 23,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually by end of 2027, supplying TotalEnergies under a long-term contract and reducing up to 300,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.
