ENEC and Samsung C&T Sign MoU to Advance Global Nuclear Energy Collaboration

The Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore international nuclear energy opportunities, focusing on large-scale and advanced nuclear technologies including SMRs and global infrastructure.

• The MoU establishes a framework for knowledge sharing, project evaluation, and strategic investment, with a joint working group to identify mutual interests and support future nuclear initiatives.
• ENEC aims to expand nuclear capacity globally, leveraging experience from the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, while Hyundai E&C plans to deepen cooperation based on its role as lead contractor for Barakah, supporting nuclear energy deployment aligned with IEA and IAEA projections for significant capacity growth by 2030 and 2050.
