Malaysia at CEM16 and MI-10 in Busan
The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, led by Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, participated in CEM16 and MI-10 and undertook a working visit to KHNP Saeol NPP on 26 August 2025 in Busan, Republic of Korea.
- Main announcement/action: The delegation reaffirmed Malaysia’s NETR target to achieve 70 per cent renewable energy capacity by 2050, stressed the need for resilient, flexible, and modernized grid infrastructure, and endorsed the CEM-MI Agenda for Action (launched in Brazil, 2024), calling for public-private collaboration, clear policy direction, technological innovation, and sustainable financing.
