ESMA and EEA sign sustainable finance MoU

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Environment Agency (EEA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 20/08/2025 to strengthen cooperation on sustainable finance and the integration of environmental factors into the EU sustainable finance framework.

  • Main action: ESMA and the EEA will exchange expertise, information and data, support mutual capacity-building activities, facilitate collaboration between national securities regulators and national environmental authorities/agencies, and enhance policy dialogue on the sustainable finance agenda; the MoU document is available at the ESMA site and was signed on 20/08/2025 (see MoU PDF).
