UK funds £36m Biomass Feedstocks Innovation Programme projects
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy announced funding awards under the Biomass Feedstocks Innovation Programme to support innovation in sustainable domestic biomass production.
- Main announcement: The Programme awarded a total of £36 million: £32 million for Phase 2 (demonstration) — including up to £4 million per Lot 1 project and £5 million for the Lot 2 multi-site demonstrator platform — distributed across 12 Phase 2 projects (including projects from 7 small- and medium-sized enterprises). Phase 1 received £4 million to fund 22 Lot 1 innovation projects and 3 Lot 2 multi-site demonstrator projects for project development.
