Equinix opens AI-ready CN1 IBX data center in Chennai

Equinix has opened its first IBX data center in Chennai (CN1) on 2025-09-19 with an initial investment of US$69 million. CN1 is located on SIPCOT land in Siruseri, Tamil Nadu and is interconnected with Equinix’s Mumbai campus.

CN1 is AI-ready, engineered for 99.999% uptime, supports liquid cooling for high-density compute, and offers Equinix interconnection services including Equinix Fabric and Equinix Fabric Cloud Router to enable hybrid multicloud connectivity to providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud.
