Heimdall Power and Puget Sound Energy launch DLR project
Heimdall Power announced a partnership with Puget Sound Energy to deploy dynamic line rating (DLR) sensors across western Washington.
- Project scope: Heimdall Power will install 75 Neurons across 100 miles of transmission lines in Pierce, Kitsap, King, Island, and Whatcom Counties in western Washington, with installations largely performed by Heimdall’s autonomous drone system.
- Implementation and evaluation: Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will operate and evaluate the system through summer 2026; the pilot will inform future grid planning and potential wider deployment of DLR technology across PSE’s network serving more than 1.2 million electric customers.
