UK Government Proposes Reforms for Clean Energy Expansion

The UK government has proposed reforms aimed at increasing offshore wind capacity to provide clean power by 2030. The proposed reforms revolve around the Contracts for Difference scheme and are part of the Clean Power 2030 Action Plan which aims for a capacity of 43 to 50 GW in offshore wind. The reforms intend to ensure value for money for consumers while driving economic growth and job creation in the sector. The consultation period for these reforms is open for four weeks until 21 March.
