Akamai signs $11.6 billion multi-year Anthropic agreement

Akamai Technologies has announced a new $11.6 billion multi-year agreement with Anthropic to support Anthropic’s growing CPU workload demand using Akamai Cloud.

• The seven-year commitment covers $11.6 billion of contractual value, with a possible expansion of up to $9 billion more, bringing total potential commitment to about $20 billion.
• Akamai said it issued a warrant to Anthropic for up to approximately 5% of Akamai common stock, with about 2% expected to vest immediately and the remaining 3% tied to future service purchases; total related capital expenditures are estimated at approximately $5.5 billion, including $1.7 billion of additional 2026 capex for supply chain components such as memory.
