AMD launches Helios rack-scale AI and new chip portfolios

AMD has announced a broad new AI infrastructure and physical AI portfolio at Advancing AI 2026, led by the AMD Helios rack-scale solution, which is now in production.

• The launch includes 6th Gen AMD EPYC CPUs, AMD Instinct MI400 Series GPUs, AMD Helios rackscale solutions, AMD Ryzen AI Embedded X100 processors, and the AMD Kria AI SOM and Robotics Developer Platform.
• AMD said AMD Helios combines 72 Instinct MI455X GPUs and 18 6th Gen EPYC Venice CPUs, and that it can deliver up to 30% more tokens per dollar than a leading competitive solution.
• AMD also said partners including Anthropic, OpenAI, Meta, Cerebras, AT&T and Cisco are collaborating on AI infrastructure and edge AI deployments; Anthropic’s partnership includes plans to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of MI455X GPUs in Helios rack-scale solutions.
