Clinton celebrates AWS $1 billion data center investment

The City of Clinton has announced that Amazon Web Services will invest $1 billion to repurpose the former Delphi manufacturing facility into a data center.

• AWS is converting the long-vacant Delphi plant into a state-of-the-art data center, with the project expected to support at least 100 highly skilled positions and thousands of additional jobs during construction, logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain activity.
• Entergy Mississippi said Amazon’s projects in Mississippi help keep rates 16% lower than they otherwise would have been in 2030 as the utility builds advanced power plants and makes the largest grid upgrade in its 100-year history; AWS also reiterated its water positive by 2030 commitment and broader workforce-development investments in STEM education, fiber optic training, technical certifications, and pre-apprenticeship programs.
