Egypt expands AI, cloud computing and data centers

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed the expansion of AI, cloud computing, hyperscale data centers, and 5G deployment as part of Egypt’s digital transformation agenda.

• The meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindy, and Major General Hany Mahmoud Mansour reviewed the Unified Government Services Card and efforts to improve technical and operational efficiency.
• The minister said Egypt aims for $8 billion in digital exports by 2028, $12 billion in digital outsourcing exports by 2029, and 120 electronics design companies by 2030; the meeting also covered Karnak, the national AI program, and measures to protect children from harmful online content.
