Eskom reports second straight profitable year

Eskom has announced its FY2026 annual results, reporting a second consecutive year of profitability and saying it will reinvest earnings into grid expansion, generation recovery, and decarbonisation.
- Group profit after tax rose to R30.3 billion in FY2026, up from R14.0 billion in 2025; EBITDA margin improved to 30.63% from 28.75%.
- Eskom said it had gone more than a year without load shedding, received its first credit-rating upgrade in over a decade, and will use improved finances and government debt relief to support future Capex, grid expansion, and continued business turnaround.
