European Commission reports on data center energy efficiency

The European Commission has published a report on the energy efficiency and sustainability of data centers in the EU and outlined next steps for a more sustainable sector.

• The report says EU data centers used 68 TWh of electricity in 2024, rising to 114 TWh by 2030 in projections, and evaluates sustainability using PUE, WUE, ERF, and REF metrics.
