Fortinet launches FortiGate 1200G with FortiSASE Outpost

Fortinet has announced the FortiGate 1200G series and FortiSASE Outpost capability to extend firewall and SASE convergence into customer-controlled environments.

• FortiGate 1200G is positioned as a new FortiGate G series product built on FortiASIC architecture, with 10G, 25G, and 100G connectivity and support for campus, data center, and hybrid environments.
• When configured as FortiSASE Outpost, the device can operate as a local SASE POP for customer-controlled environments, with FortiGate 1200G expected to be available in Q3 2026.
• The release includes performance claims such as 397.0 Gbps firewall throughput, 102.0 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput, and 40.0 Gbps threat protection, plus a comparison table against competitor models.
• Fortinet says the architecture can keep designated traffic, logs, and processing within defined geographic, jurisdictional, or private infrastructure boundaries while maintaining centralized policy and monitoring through FortiSASE.
