Nature Briefing links climate and nuclear power coverage

Nature Briefing has published a roundup of research and commentary, including a climate-related report on a deadly Nepal flood and a feature on nuclear power and data centers.

• Glacier collapse on the Nepal–Tibet border caused a flash flood that killed around 350 people; scientists said melting glaciers and permafrost may have contributed, and the USGS later said the landslide generated a 5.2-magnitude seismic event.
• The briefing also highlighted that small modular reactors could help power data centers for AI, alongside other items on muscle grafts, shingles vaccine research, Antarctic ice-mass changes, mine access for women researchers, and Japan’s pollen-reduction forestry plans.
