Qnetic advances commercialization of long-duration flywheel storage

Qnetic has announced that it has begun constructing what it believes is the world’s largest dedicated flywheel test cell and is assembling its first full-scale 200-kWh Pulsar prototype.

• The purpose-built test facility is located at Qnetic’s Technology Center in Shanghai and represents a million-dollar-plus investment; it will be used to validate performance, safety, and reliability.
• The 200-kWh Pulsar is being developed for data centers, renewable energy time-shifting, grid balancing, microgrids, and industrial power resilience; Qnetic also says its current crowdfunding round is in partnership with DealMaker.
