SCO adopts green tech and AI cooperation plans

The SCO Heads of State Council has adopted final documents, including a new concept on regional data centers and AI industry development, alongside green technology, biodiversity, logistics, and security initiatives.
- Leaders adopted the Bishkek Declaration and approved cooperation programmes for the SCO Green Technology Corridor (2026–2030), a biodiversity action plan for 2026–2031, and an action plan for ports and logistics centers (2026–2030).
- The meeting also adopted a Concept for Establishing Regional Data Centers and Computing Capacities and Developing the Artificial Intelligence Industry, and decisions on security bodies, drug control, Lahore as SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital for 2026–2027, and an MoU with the African Union Commission.
- In his speech, Vladimir Putin said the SCO was founded in 2001 and noted Russia’s trade with SCO members exceeded US$400 billion last year; he also said national currencies account for over 98 percent of Russia’s settlements with SCO members.
