The UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force has conducted Exercise Lion Protector 26 and held a ministerial summit in Keflavik, Iceland, to strengthen regional defence and cooperation against Russian hybrid threats.
- Exercise Lion Protector 26 involved hundreds of British personnel and allies training across the North Atlantic, High North, and Baltic Sea to protect critical national infrastructure, improve joint command and control, and counter emerging threats.
- Royal Marines carried out the first exercise on the Faroe Islands since the Second World War alongside Danish forces; the summit also discussed Canada’s application for JEF membership, hybrid-threat cooperation, industrial collaboration, and support for Ukraine through the JEF-Ukraine Enhanced Partnership.
