UK seeks host site for £750m AI supercomputer

The UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology has launched an expression of interest for eligible UK research organisations and consortia to host a new heterogeneous AI supercomputer under the AI Research Resource (AIRR).
- The £750 million investment will expand the UK’s national AI infrastructure, combining established and novel AI hardware for frontier AI research, large-scale inference workloads, and scientific discovery.
- The government is seeking organisations with the infrastructure, expertise and capability to deliver and operate a secure, resilient national compute service supporting researchers, businesses and public sector users across the UK.
