Ukraine speeds interceptor and jet engine production

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine is accelerating production of systems to intercept Russian jet-powered Shahed drones, and that new decisions were also made to deploy production of various types of jet engines in Ukraine.

• The Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff reviewed test results for interceptors against Russian jet-powered Shahed drones, discussed shoot-down rates and operational experience, and identified the main systems needed to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence.
• The Main Directorate of Intelligence briefed the meeting on Russia’s technological plans for 2027, including production capabilities and supply schemes for components; Zelenskyy also said partners need new sanctions packages targeting shadow schemes used to produce drones and missiles, especially ballistic missiles.
• The meeting also approved additional decisions to protect and ensure the uninterrupted operation of data center infrastructure and other critical communications facilities, with implementation required at all levels.
