Veolia selected to operate Ohio AI data center microgrid

Veolia has announced that it was selected by a major project developer to operate and maintain a 350-megawatt microgrid for an AI data center campus in Ohio.

  • The project will provide 100% of the power for the campus without relying on the traditional electric grid, using gas engines, linear generators, battery energy storage systems, and medium-voltage infrastructure.
  • Veolia said it will provide operations integration, commissioning support, and long-term plant operations under a performance-based model; the facility targets 99.9% availability and will require 35-40 full-time on-site personnel. The release also says the project was supported before commercial operations to help with startup readiness and coordination among contractors and OEMs.
