Florida Power & Light Company has filed with the Florida Public Service Commission stating that its PSC-approved large load rate structure already satisfies Florida’s new data center law, SB 484. The filing says data center customers must fund 100% of new generation and meet collateral, substation, and minimum-bill requirements.

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has put the HoreKa 2 supercomputer into operation, a EUR 17 million system for climate, materials, particle physics, energy, mobility, and AI research. The machine features more than 42,000 processor cores, 300 AI accelerators, and around 33 petaFLOPS of planned peak performance.
