NV Energy files large-load service agreements with two Storey County entities building 362 MW of on-site gas and a 345 kV substation
Sierra Pacific Power Company d/b/a NV Energy applied on May 29, 2026 for approval of Large Load Electric Service Agreements with two Storey County, Nevada entities: PR RNO Property Owner 1, LLC and SV RNO Property Owner 1, LLC. Those same entities had already filed to build their own power. PR RNO sought a permit for a temporary 218 MW natural gas-fueled generating facility; SV RNO sought one for a temporary 144 MW facility and, separately, for a new 345 kV substation tying into the Mackey Switching Station. Days earlier, Microsoft filed a comment on May 21, 2026 in PUCN Docket 20-08014 on a large-load tariff framework.
