Entergy breaks ground on 1,500 MW to power Meta's Richland Parish Hyperion campus
Entergy Louisiana broke ground on December 1, 2025 on two new combined-cycle combustion turbine facilities in Richland Parish that will add about 1,500 MW to serve Meta’s Hyperion data center campus. The move builds on Entergy’s power plan for a $10 billion Meta project first announced on December 6, 2024. One live question sits over the campus: whether Meta’s data center is permitted as its own air source or whether the utility generation serving it is aggregated with it for major-source purposes. The primary utility and grid record documents a distinct Entergy generation project moving through Louisiana Public Service Commission approval and into construction.
