On September 1 and September 2, 2026, Google’s clean-power procurement moved into two new states within 24 hours. Fervo Energy said Google signed a 396 MW power purchase agreement for its Cape Station geothermal project in Beaver County, Utah. A day earlier, MN8 Energy said Google will buy the energy, capacity, and clean energy attributes of the Mammoth Solar project in Kanawha County, West Virginia. Both deals carry data-center linkage language, but the two differ sharply in how firmly that linkage is stated.
