President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated the new 110/35/10 kV Khankendi-1 substation operated by Azerenerji OJSC in the city of Khankendi.
- Khankendi-1, the first closed-type 110 kV substation in the liberated regions, was built to urban grid standards, connected via an 11 km high-voltage line from Shusha (including 1.8 km underground cable), and will supply Khankendi, Aghdara, Khojaly, and Khojavend with reliable power using a Micro-SCADA digital control system.
- Azerenerji has constructed about 1,000 km of high-voltage lines and 12 new substations forming a 330/110 kV ring network across Karabakh and East Zangezur, upgraded key hubs (including the Jabrayil Energy Hub and Imishli, Aghjabadi, Ganja, Navahi, Jabrayil 330 kV, and Sangachal 220 kV substations), deployed digital monitoring with drones and thermal imaging, and is building CIS-largest Battery Energy Storage Systems at Absheron and Aghdash to integrate 2 GW of new renewables using Wide Area Monitoring and Control systems.
