Bank brief on data centers and AI financing risks

UNEP FI has published a sector brief on data centers and AI services for banks.

• The brief is a non-binding guidance document intended to support client engagement, high-level transaction screening, portfolio and risk analysis, and sector strategy and policy.
• It covers data center infrastructure, the hardware lifecycle, dedicated computing capacity and commercial AI services, and also discusses adjacent activities including power generation, hardware supply chains, telecommunications, and water and wastewater utilities.
