C-BRAIN has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to use AI and accelerated computing to speed Alzheimer’s research and support new treatment discovery.
- The consortium, launched in November 2025, says it is using a hybrid centralized and federated architecture to work with protected “dark data” from member institutions while preserving privacy and governance.
- C-BRAIN currently runs 64 NVIDIA data center GPUs on premises plus cloud nodes on Microsoft Azure; published case studies say OpenScientist completed analyses in minutes at under $10 per run, and C-BRAIN says it works with over 200 research groups.
- The group also plans a multimodal biological foundation model using neuroimaging, multi-omics, fluid biomarkers and longitudinal clinical measures, with a goal by year three of identifying new causal mechanisms of brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease.
