Cirrus Logic wins Scottish Enterprise energy grant

Cirrus Logic has announced that it received a research and development grant from Scottish Enterprise to advance smart energy technology and expand engineering activities in Scotland.

• The grant will support development of a new metrology analogue front-end (AFE) platform for high-accuracy energy measurement and metrology calculations for smart power metering applications.
• The core IP is intended for EV charging, data center DC metrology, energy storage, and grid monitoring; the project is scheduled to run through 2028 and includes expanded collaboration with the University of Strathclyde.
• Cirrus Logic said the work supports its largest engineering operations outside the United States in Edinburgh, with continued investment in engineering talent and infrastructure.
• Scottish Enterprise said the investment shows how Scottish R&D can help deliver smart energy systems for a net zero future.
