Currence has published a Data Center Outlook warning that 30–50% of the 2026 data center pipeline may not come online by year-end.

  • The report says Currence is launching Outlooks, a quarterly update built from its live project database and analyst context, and that it is tracking 190GW across 777 large data centers and AI factories announced since 2024.
  • For 2026, the company says at least 16GW is slated to come online across about 140 projects, but only about 5GW is under construction and around 11GW remains announced with no visible construction progress; it also cites 2025 delivery slippage of 26% of expected capacity and another 10% of projects pushing back CODs.
