EU approves amended Italy recovery and resilience plan

The Council of the European Union has approved an amended recovery and resilience plan for Italy and replaced the Annex to the 13 July 2021 implementing decision.

• Italy requested amendments on 11 June 2026, citing objective circumstances, with changes affecting 118 measures across multiple missions, including removals, reductions, additions, and clerical corrections.
• The amended plan keeps the financial contribution at EUR 71,779,623,788 and loan support at EUR 122,601,810,400; the estimated total cost of the amended RRP is EUR 194,435,381,164.
• The text also states the amended RRP continues to support the green transition and digital transition, with climate-tagged measures representing 37% of the total allocation and digital measures 26.4%.
