EU Council amends Greece recovery plan approval decision

The Council of the European Union has approved amendments to Greece’s recovery and resilience plan and will replace the annex to its 13 July 2021 implementing decision.

• Greece requested the revision on 8 May 2026 after saying the plan was partially no longer achievable because of objective circumstances; the amendments affect 111 measures and include removals, partial changes, mergers, and new measures.
• The amended plan’s estimated total cost is EUR 36,113,375,270; the EU financial contribution remains EUR 18,220,378,076 and loan support remains EUR 17,727,538,920. The text also says the plan allocates 39.8% to climate objectives and 25.2% to digital objectives.
