EU Council amends Slovenia recovery plan with AI measures

The Council of the European Union has adopted a decision approving amendments to Slovenia’s recovery and resilience plan.

• The amended plan adds two new measures: C7-IO and C7-IOL, both voluntary contributions to the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking for AI Gigafactories or equivalent AI infrastructure.
• Slovenia submitted the amended plan on 26 May 2026; the decision states the total estimated cost is EUR 2,082,352,849, with the financial contribution unchanged at EUR 1,612,948,340 and loan support of EUR 468,836,849 unchanged.
• The amendment also revises 26 measures in total, including areas such as gigabit infrastructure, digitalisation, health system accessibility, alternative fuels infrastructure, and green transition measures.
